Is Moto E is Cheaper than Moto G?

Motorola is grabbing enough success and sales in the emerging markets with its Moto G. The company will debut yet another affordable phone with codename of Moto E. As per the leaked information, Moto E will be made available exclusively on e-commerce portals for a price of Rs 8,999. Besides the pricing, the source divulges even some of the key specs of the device.

Design and Display

The Moto G flaunts a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen and sports a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixel. On the other hand the upcoming Moto E will have a slightly smaller screen size of 4.3 inches with 540 x 960 pixels. The Moto G supports micro-sim, while the upcoming Moto E will provide dual-sim support. Moto G is 11.6 mm thick, whereas the Moto E is 6.2 mm thick, which is a much required change.

Hardware and Software

Talking to the processors, the popular Moto G is backed by a quad-core Cortex-A7 processor, with a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset, clocked at 1.2 GHz. It comes with 1 GB of RAM while the Moto E will be powered by a dual-core processor, likely to be either Qualcomm or MediaTek, according toSlashGear, clocked at 1.2 GHz. The Moto E is expected to come with 1 GB of RAM. The Moto G is based on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean, which is upgradable to v4.4.2 KitKat. The Moto E is expected to run on the latest Android version.


The all-favorite Moto G boasts a 5-MP rear-facing camera, with LED flash, and a 1.3-MP front-facing camera. The Moto E is expected to follow suit in this category.

Memory and Battery

The Moto G is available with 8 or 16 GB of on-board storage with no micro SD slot for expansion. On the other hand, the Moto E will offer only a 4 GB of internal storage. Though the internal storage of Moto E is very low, the handset will sport a micro SD slot for expansion up to 32 GB. When it comes to battery, the Moto G houses a good-enough non-removable Li-ion 2,070 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Moto E will house a lowly 1,900 mAh battery unit.

Pricing and Availability


The Moto G comes with q black front panel and you have seven different colors to choose from for its back panel. This is expected to be the norm for Moto E as well. The Moto G 8 GB is almost priced at Rs.13, 000 and as per speculations; the Moto E price in India is Rs.8, 999. Hence proved, the Moto E will introduce with a less price tag from Moto G.
