Microsoft, HP Partner to Launch Omni 10 Edutainment Tablet

Microsoft collaborated with HP and announced a new Windows Phone operating system based tablet in India. Dubbed as Omni 10, it is believed that the tablet is specially designed for youth who are pursing higher education in engineering and management streams and is priced at Rs 29,999. Since it is meant for students, the tablet will come with embedded content that facilitates them to complete their tasks.

As its name indicates the HP Omni 10 comes with a 10.1 inch touch screen which has 1920×1000 pixels resolution and is armed with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that would protect the screen from day to day wear and tear. The tablet sports 9.9 mm thickness and weighs around half a kg.

The HP Omni 10 is paired with Intel Atom Z3770 quad core processor along with 2 GB RAM. It will have 32 GB internal storage which can be further expandable up to 64 GB capacity by using micro SD card slot. The tablet features an 8 megapixel rear camera produces good quality of pictures and a 2 megapixel front camera for video calling. When it comes to connectivity, it is enabled with endless options such as Wi-Fi, HDMI, USB on the go, and Bluetooth. It claims to provide about 10 hours of battery backup. The tablet offers Pearson’s e-learning content, including theory papers of first semester engineering and MBA courses.
