Nokia LUMIA 800 – 28% Discount on MRP

Nokia lumia 800 is the first windows based smart phone launched by Nokia. The company has marked its shift towards the premium- priced phones with this product. The lumia 800 comes packed in a polycarbonate body making it feel good to hold, the display looks just brilliant and the curved edges on the side offer nice grip. On the top the phone houses a 3.5mm audio jack, a micro USB connector and a micro SIM card slot.

The Windows 7.5 (mango) does not support Dual core, 1080p video recording or a micro SD card slot. But does it really affect the user experience I don’t think so, it gives away almost a fluidic performance without the need of the top end hardware. The phone just works smoothly and that’s what the user would want from any smart phone.
Still on paper the LUMIA 800 comes boarded with a 1.4GHz processor, 512MBRAM, 16GB of internal memory and the usual proximity sensor, accelerometer and ambient light. The 3.7”WVGA display is simply brilliant with a curved Gorilla glass making the user automatically swipe their finger over it.

Microsoft does a great job with the Mango OS(7.5), especially with the live tiles and hubs concept. The UI does away all the unwanted menu option boiling down to swipe across the display and rarely getting into sub- menu options. Nokia adds on two crucial contents which the Microsoft can’t get to India are the Nokia music and navigation.
The Nokia Music Store comes with an offering of a load of music options from Nokia itself, but the navigation app-Nokia Drive-is the best navigation application out there on any smart phone device. Not only can you save and download maps for almost every major country, you can even select individual cities to save on download data costs and storage space on the smart phone. It also provides an option to download language packs for Hindi apart from other languages for voice prompts. Nokia has also pre-installed applications like Poynt, giving local information about places, movies, restaurants and events around you.

Nokia Lumia 800 comes provided of a 1450 mAh non removable battery giving 265 hours of standbyin 2G and 335 hours in 3G. The Lumia 800 could last for 55 hours on music playback or 7 hours on video depending on usage. The 8.0 MP camera on the device offers lot of settings that can be tweaked to get the desired result with hardly any shutter lag, good for some casual photographers.

It looks good and gives a pretty solid Windows Phone experience, the Lumia 800 is a great choice as a smart phone just for its simplicity and great design form factor. The Nokia Lumia 800 comes at a price tag of Rs.26, 419 in India, but you could avail the Nokia Lumia 800 on jeetle deals at a discount price of Rs.18, 999.
